Once we know more about you, we will talk to you about what we think might help.
One of the things we do is to run groups and they can be such a good way to get support. Sometimes being with other people, who are finding the same things difficult, can be so helpful!
Groups for Parents/Carers
Behaviour
Children and young people can find it really hard to manage their big feelings and sometimes parents/carers have to do it for them (especially with children under 5). We want to help parents to do this in a safe space where they can learn about little people's brains, why they behave the way they do and what you can do to help.
We have two groups that do this:
Early Years Parent Group (for under 5s)
Guided Self Help Parent Group (5-11yrs)
Both groups are a supportive, caring and safe environment to talk and learn new skills. The sessions will help you to understand the reasons for challenging behaviour, build stronger bonds with your child and give you new ways to help them.
Anxiety
Managing anxious feelings is tough, even for adults, so for children it can be really hard. As parents/carers all we want to do is make our children feel safe and it can be hard to know how to make them feel brave by themselves.
Parent Led CBT (5-12yrs) is designed just for parents and carers. It is a supportive, caring and safe environment to talk and learn new skills. We help you to understand how anxiety works in your body and brain and what you can do to help your child manage their anxious thoughts.
Groups for Children & Young People
Feeling anxious or worried a lot?
We know that feeling worried or anxious is normal but that it can be really hard to beat sometimes. Our groups will help you to talk about, understand and manage your anxious feelings in a really safe space.
The sessions are fun and relaxed. You will meet more people feeling just the same way you do and be able to help each other.
We also ask your family to come to 3 sessions so we can teach them all the good stuff we teach you!
Friends for Life is for children aged 8-11
My Friends Youth is for young people aged 12-15
Emotional Resilience Group (Under 5s)
This one is adapted for our very little ones who come along with a parent/carer to every session.
Social Anxiety Group for young people aged 13-18
This one is especially for people finding it hard to be around and to talk to people.
Feeling a bit cross, frustrated or just upset?
Decider Skills is for children aged 9-13
If this is happening a lot it can be really hard to manage and not upset yourself and other people. Decider Skills will help you to recognise your own thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It will then teach you a brilliant set of skills that you can use every day to feel better and more peaceful.
