For over 30 years, Key’s provided a range of housing advice, support and accommodation services to young people at risk of homelessness, and their families, and helped local people experiencing hardship. You can visit their website here.

Kooth.png

Kooth is a free safe and anonymous platform for young people to find all kinds of support for their mental health and emotional wellbeing. From text-chat with trained emotional wellbeing practitioners and counsellors to helpful activities, resources and a supportive community, there are lots of ways to access support. LGBT Waythrough Logo.jpgThis service provides support and advice for LGBT+ young people aged 11-25 in the local area.  Support includes one to one advice and guidance, sexual health information, family support and hate crime reporting. You can visit their website here.

Matrix.pngThe Matrix works with young people under 18 yrs, their families and carers in South Tyneside whose lives have been affected by drugs or alcohol and those who are at risk of developing drug or alcohol problems. You can visit their website here.

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. South Tyneside Sexual Health are now in partnership with Family Hubs in a range of locations across South Tyneside.

The new partnership approach aims to improve access to Sexual Health care in community settings, taking clinics out to the heart of the community.

South Tyneside Family Hubs offer help and advice on family life. They are a free service to help improve the wellbeing of families in South Tyneside. They offer high quality support for families from conception - 19 (or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs). They have hubs based right across South Tyneside. Young Carers Logo.jpgA Young Carer is someone under 18 who helps to care for a parent, sibling or another family member because they have an illness, disability, mental health difficulty or misuses drugs or alcohol.

The Young Carers provide a wide range of support and advice including support in school, someone to talk to and day trips/activities. You can visit their website here.

Toby Henderson Trust.png

The Toby Henderson Trust (at the Autism Hub, Gordon Street, South Shields) is available Monday – Wednesday 9am – 4pm for South Tyneside families.

They support parents and families of autistic children and young people up to the age of 18. This includes those where there are additional needs, but no confirmed diagnosis.

Young Person's Group.jpgThe Young Person's Group is a group of 11-20 year old's living in South Tyneside or Sunderland.  They come together once a month to share ideas on how to improve Trust services children and young people. You can find out more information here.
