Here are some signs that your child may need mental health support.  It is important to know that most children experience some/all of these difficulties at some point in their lives.  They won't always need our support.

Long lasting low mood
If your child is experiencing regular sadness for no obvious reason, loss of interest in activities or regular feelings of hopelessness.

Worry
If your child is excessively anxious, worried, or fearful, or if their anxiety is interfering with their daily life.

Sleep
Significant difficulties falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early can be a sign of underlying mental health issues. 

Eating problems
Changes in eating habits, such as increased or decreased appetite, excessive dieting, or disordered eating patterns

Changes in behaviour
Sudden mood swings, increased irritability, aggression, or withdrawal from social activities can be linked to mental health dips.

School difficulties
If your child is experiencing difficulties at school, such as poor academic performance, difficulty concentrating, or problems with social interactions, it may be linked to their well being.

Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
If your child is talking about self-harm, hurting themselves, or expressing suicidal thoughts, it is important to seek immediate professional help.
