5 a day for welbeing- being more active can be fun!

What can you do to me more active?

Be active Exercising makes you feel good about yourself

Go for a walk, run, cycle or scooter. Try a new sport: football, gymnastics, rugby, dancing, or paly an outside game (dodgeball, tennis). Find something active to do that you enjoy.

Connect Spending time being active with family and friends can make a huge difference

Spending time doing things together with friends or family can help us feel connected to those we love. Join an activity or club or take the dog for a walk.

Keep learning Doing new activities can help increase confidence as well as being fun

When you exercise – ‘feel good’ hormones are released. Try a doing something new, play a new game outside or try indoor skipping, laugher yoga or using a hula hoop. Notice how your body feels after exercise: how good do you feel physically and emotionally?

Take notice When you are active look around you to help you appreciate what matters to you

What activities do others do? Do they look like they are enjoying being more active. Be curious, use your 5 senses: what smells, tastes, sights, sounds and things can you touch that are around you when you are more active?

Give Seeing yourself linked to the wider community can be incredibly rewarding

Do something nice for a friend or help your family. Give encouragement, ideas or support to join in a activity. Being more active inside and outdoors can help.
