Everybody has times when their eating habits can change.  This can be very normal when other things are going on in your life like:

  • Coping with stress, anxiety, or low mood
  • Wanting control during difficult periods
  • Pressure related to body image, social media, or health trends
  • Trauma or difficult life experiences

Common examples include:

  • Restricting food or skipping meals
  • Binge eating or feeling out of control around food
  • Purging behaviours (vomiting, laxatives, over‑exercising)
  • Rigid food rules (e.g., “I’m bad if I eat X”)
  • Guilt, shame, or anxiety about eating
  • Compensatory behaviours like fasting or extreme exercise after eating

Many people experience disordered eating at some point, and it is absolutely OK to ask for support. Early conversations can make a huge difference.

Sometimes we are given the wrong information about what is good for us.  The Real Food Pyramid will show you the truth!
