Therapists Ellie and Andrew were on hand, this Wednesday, helping students enrolled at Gateshead College’s yearly Freshers Fair.
The event enabled new and returning students to find out about accessing services, to help them navigate life while studying.
Ellie and Andrew talked to students about the support Gateshead Talking Therapies offers and how it could help students: -
- Gateshead Talking Therapies can support young people aged 16 to 18, as well as those 18+, registered with a Gateshead GP.
- Therapists provide a confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours without needing a formal diagnosis. It can help you focuses on changing unhelpful patterns in how you think and act. The service offers a number of therapies to help you face and deal with what’s affecting you.

As well as Gateshead Talking Therapies there were staff representing; The Recovery Partnership (supporting people in Gateshead who are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction) The Nook (Everyturn and Chidlren’s North East fee mental health drop in support service for 13 to17 years olds, and 18 years olds in full time education, in Newcastle and Gateshead) as well as NHS services in Gateshead.
