Everyone Worries

As part of our whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing, the Healthy Minds Team deliver a workshop called “Everyone Worries”. This is a stand-alone session which aims to introduce the emotion of ‘worry’ to children. Within this session, children will be taught what worries are and what happens in our bodies when we worry. Following this, children will be taught breathing strategies and grounding techniques to support emotional regulation as well as introducing worry monsters and worry jars.

Ways you can support at home: Parents/carers can encourage children to share worries at home through the use of worry monsters or a worry jar. Additionally, a self-soothe box or basket can be made to support emotional regulation at home, possible suggestions may include fidget toys, sensory toys, cuddly toy etc.
