Transitions
As part of our whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing, the Healthy Minds Team deliver workshops about schools transitions across KS1, KS2 and KS4.
Transition-KS1
This workshop focuses on the transition between KS1 and KS2. The workshop is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques which looks at the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Ways you can support at home: Parents/carers to encourage problem-solving at home by supporting your child to identify possible solutions to their problem, then making a plan for the best solution. For example, if they find the work too hard, what can they do?
Transition-KS2
This workshop focuses on the transition moving from primary to secondary school. The workshop is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques which looks at the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Ways you can support at home: Parents/carers to encourage problem solving at home by supporting your child to independently identify possible solutions to their problem, then making a plan for the best solution. For example, if they get lost in their new school, what could they do?
Transition-KS4
This workshop focuses on the transition of finishing secondary school and options for the future. The workshop is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques which looks at the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Ways you can support at home: Parents/carers to encourage problem solving at home by supporting your child to independently identify possible solutions to their problem, then making a plan for the best solution.
